Almost 5 years ago now, my business partner Ryan Russey and I realized that the culture that was emerging at Newmind was something special. We didn’t really know at the time what it would become, but we knew that it was important for us to invest in our culture. We also felt strongly that we should get better at communicating what our culture is about with team members, customers and the world.

Looking back, I am so proud of the culture that has been built by the Newmind team, our clients and the community around us.

I am excited to announce that Newmind has been selected by the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business, as one of two Grand Prize Winners of their 2015 Positive Business Project.

Newmind was selected from a field of finalists that includes Ford IT, General Motors, United Way, AE Works, City of Ballarat, Knewton, Ozone House, Menlo Innovations and Team DETROIT (also a Grand Prize Winner). I have so much respect for these wonderful organizations and to be included among them is a real honor for all of us at Newmind. I would encourage you to take a look at the other finalists videos here.

The PBP is awarded by the business school’s Center for Positive Organizations which has a mission “to inspire and enable leaders to build high-performing organizations that bring out the best in people.”

Newmind was invited to submit a video to the PBP that highlights a positive business practice from our culture. Our friends at Rhino Media helped us make a video that focuses on our practice of making decisions based on our values.

The video features Newmind leaders, team members and clients who have all been responsible for helping us to shape and improve our culture. I’m so humbled to be able to work alongside such great people and I am not surprised at all that their efforts, and the culture that they built, are being recognized.

So here it is… The video showcasing our 2015 Positive Business Project winning culture.

Special thanks to Rich Sheridan for introducing me to the wonderful team at the Center for Positive Organizations as well all of those who helped us produce the video; Jason Luke of KRESA, Bobby Hopewell of Mobile Health Resources and the team at Rhino Media.
