Jamey Wofford joins the Newmind Group team today, to direct our helpdesk team in the delivery of our IT services. He comes to us after 30 years of IT experience, much of which has been spent with IT providers around Michigan, as well as a stretch as a security engineer with Dell Technologies.
Newmind is Growing
It’s no secret that Newmind has been growing. Over the last two years, we’ve added eight members to our delivery team. That includes both helpdesk technicians, who handle day-to-day service tickets, and engineers who manage projects and serve as strategic advisors to our clients. Jamey joins Newmind to help us take the shape that we’ve been growing into since the move into our Rose Street office.
We’re excited to bring him on to help orchestrate things on the service side of our team, which means he’ll be providing internal leadership to the Delivery Team, and helping client partnerships run even more smoothly.
Meet Jamey
On a personal level, Jamey enjoys cycling, laser engraving, woodworking and British crime stories! He’s also a Michigan State University graduate, and active in the alumni community there! He shared a little bit more about himself below:
Born and raised in Battle Creek, I married my high school sweetheart. Together, we have a 21 year-old son who is transferring from Kellogg Community College to Northern Michigan University for the winter semester (yep, winter in the U.P.!).
I began my IT career as an intern at the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) where my sole responsibility was to process, maintain, and troubleshoot large print jobs for defense-related cataloging. Walking in the door as an intern, I couldn’t differentiate a “bit” from a “byte.” It was a true sink or swim situation!
In the past few decades, I’ve worked across numerous verticals/industries, but my passion has long been centered around managed and professional services. I’ve been blessed with some amazing opportunities that have allowed me to see the world.
We’re excited to have Jamey on our side as we face down the back half of 2025! If you see him around in a client meeting or at an open house in our office, be sure to come over and say hello.
